Turkey's Sinister Move
OPERATIONS IN THE BLACK SEA. RAID ON RUSSIAN COAST, iReceived 16, 10.40 p.m. Rome, October 14. A Constantinople telegram states that the commander of the Goeben aims at attacking the Russian Black Sea fleet, and threatens to raid the Russian coast.
CANNONADING OFF ROUMANIAN COAST. TURKISH AND RUSSIAN FLEETS ENGAGED. Received 16, 12.55 a.m. Rome, October 15. A message from Bucharest states that heavy cannonading was heard throughout the whole of Wednesday oil Constanza.
J It was believed that the Goeben and IBreslau were lighting the Russian fleet.
ACTIONS LOUDER THAN WORDS. BRITISH LADIES LEAVE CONSTANTINOPLE. Received 16, 9 p.m. The Hague, October 14. The Frankfurter Zeitung states that Sir Edward Mallet, the British Ambassador at Constantinople, has requested the ladies of the Embassy to leave Constantinople.
GERMANS ON TURKISH WARSHIPS. THE GOEBEN AND BRESLAU. Times and Sydney Sun Services. Received 15, 0.40 p.m. London, October 14. It is stated that 85 per cent, of the officers and cre'ws of tho Goben and Brislau are Germans, most of them retaining their German uniforms. More German artificers and gunners arrived aboard on Monday.
