AUCKLAND MURDER MYSTERY.
HUSBAND UNLBR EXAMINATION. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Auckland, Yesiterdky. His wife was a steady woman and "dranlk very little, They had been (married twenty years and and lived happily. Asked to account for some marks on his wile'* face. Marshall admitted they (had i-ttle tiffe. He once hit her with the back of loin hand. There was a little jawing and foe hit her on the nose. H e denied knowledge that her nose wag broken. He was asked, "Is it not a fact that you were aware, this woman had bee* living a questionable life for some timet" He replied, "I distinctly say I did not." A boy stated that he saw a man and woman together near the scene of the crime shortly after tien o'clock at night. Tho woman was wearing a Slat einnhw to that of deceased. A woman deposed that Bhe saw Mrs. Marshall in the street at 10.30 p.m. on September 28. The jury (returned a verdict that death was duo to stock and hemonftiago caused by wounds inflicted by a person unknown.
