m FINE IMPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Hugo Sewald, charged with establishing in a house in Taranaki street a wireless installation capable of receiving messages and transmitting metsagcs without first ""Obtaining the permission of the Governor-in-Cour.eil, appeared before Mr. W. Gf lliddell, S.M., tliiß afternoon. _ It was stated that Sewald was a 'British subject, having been naturalised in Australia. ll e had obtained the apparatus from a local electrical supply store for experimental purposes. It was yeiQi wealc, font an expert witness said it only required mora cells to ena/ble messages to be sent several miles. Counsel for the defence contended that the persons who tho apparatus to defendant should be prosecuted. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £2®.
