(From Our Own Correspondent). The annual geneial meeting of the lecal Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on l'riday evening. The statement of accounts showed receipts to be £l5O lis Od, and expenditure, £134 17b, leaving a cicdit balance of £ls !'7s. The assets totalled £3ll 14s fld and the liabilit;.» £32 2s Cd. The following officers were appointed: Captain: Mr A. Frost; Lieutenant, Mr 11 uMurgatroyd; foreman, Mr A. Bowen; custodians, Firemen Limmor aud Blanchard. The UMial bonuses were granted to the secretary and custodians. Sergt.-Major tllesp has resumed commaid of the Territorials and Senior Cadets in the HVaitara district. It is stated that the Sergt.-iMa.jor is to be transferred to the New Plymouth district. The fancy dress football match, pro- | moted by the North Tarauaki Patriotic League, is to take place on the old recreation ground on Thursday next. Afternoon tea is to be provided by -the ladies' committee. ,
