1 An examination in the JviiowUlge of Scripture was held last August by the Auckland iSnnda.v School Union, the results of which are now published. Fifteen hundred and thirty candidates sat for the examination, and this nranb.ir include.! reuivsentntives from the urn %inces of Taranaki and Hawke's Bav. The examination was based c'ielh on some of the miracles and parabl.n recorded in the Synoptic Cos.pels, and ; n addition, those candidates over 21 years 'of aire were also examined in elei'i nitary pedagocv. The candidates were grouped in seven grade*, and tho<e standing first, s. conil 'and third in each grade wore awarded honors prizes. Prizes were also awarded to those rweivin." 86 Tier eent : the maximum; to those who secured 70 to S-t per cent., honor certificates; 55 to (W ner cent., .first-class certificates; and 40 to 51 per cent., second-class c irtificatcs.
