FRANKLEY ROAD DAIRY CO.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Frankley Road Dairy Company was held at the new factory on Monday, when Mr P. Baker presided over an attendance of about sixteen shareholders.
In submitting the seventeenth annual report and balance-sheet, a table was given showing quantities and averages as compared with the previous year (in parentheses.:—Total quantity of milk received, 948,f11»bs (1,2G9,075!b5); total quantity of cream received, 03,0751bs (nil); total quantity of butter-fat, 58,OSSlbs (51,48711)8); total quantity of butter made, 6G,3001bs (50,57i>1b5); total over-run, 14 per cent (14 per cent); total average test —milk, 3.95 per cent (4 per cent); total average test—cream, 32 per cent, (nil); number of suppliers, 25 (11). It had been decided to .practically reconstruct the company, and to enter into the eheese-making business. AVith this object in view a guarantee of 500 cows had been obtained, and a guarantee to take up 500 shares of £2 each. They ■were asked to pass a special resolution' creating the necessary capital, also to make some alterations in the Articles of Association bringing them more up to date. A tender hod been let for the erection of a cheese factory, and the plant ordered. It was expected to start ekcese-making in October. Two directors would be. required to be elected in place of Messrs King and Gilbert, who were eligible for re-election, and an auditor in place of Mr Buxton, who again offered his services. The report was adopted.
Necessary resolutions were passed bringing the Articles of Association up to date, and to provide for increasing the capital to .€3OOO by the creation of 1000 shares of £2 each. Thcro were four nominations for the two vacancies on the directorate, t-nc voting being as follows: —Messrs Gilbert 10, Upson 8, Bennie 7, and King <S. Messrs Gilbert and Upsun were declared elected.

At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr F. Baker was re-appointed chairman. Tli e new factory, which is being erected by Messrs Boon 8r03., is almost completed. It is expected that cheesemaking will be commenced next week. The factory, which is of three eighthundred gal. vat capacitiy, is I'd ted'with up-.to date machinery. There, is every prospect of a greatly increased supply this year, as several new suppliers have joined the company and others are increasing their supply. Mr Waswo, formerly of Oaonui, has been appointed manager.
