The Richardson Company's new coastal steamer Mako, which lias been built on the Clyde for the Auckland-East Coast bays-Gisborne-Napier service, has been detained at Home owing to the outbreak of war. The Mako was provisioned, bunkered and had her crew on board ready to sail a day after war. was declared. Owing to the heavy war risk ( tlio departure of the vessel has been postponed indefinitely.
