FIRING ON MADRAS. LITTLE DAMAGE DO;?E. Bombay, September 25. Tie bombardment of Madras is estimated to have caused damage to the extent of £20,000. The population behaved admirably, with an entire absence of panic. During the bombardment of Madras the British-India steamer Chnpra came in tlir line of fire. Eight of the officers were injured. The shells fell in land'as far as VepeTey, Spurtank and 'choolay.
