Near Maharahara the fare asked him to increase the speed, bat the driverrefused, and the man, a tailor employed in Dannevirke, violently attacked him. James, wno was alone, hod a severe struggle with the man, who, when he had quietened down somewhat, wag taken to WoodviUe, where help wag obtained. Later he was brought back hera to-day and certified to be insane and committed to an asylum.
