1 Tenders.—Mr Fielder's tender for si's new pipe moulds was accepted. Agreement.—The clerk was instructed: to write to the Werikino Road Board in reply to that Board's letter in reference to the Parihaka Board striking less than a halfpenny rate on the Puniho rpad. In terms of an agreement a halfpenny rate was fixed as the minimum to be struck. Kaweora Road.—From th? Kawnora ratepayers forwarding petition requesting the Board to raise £OOO to drain and culvert the Kaweora road to the Wiremu road. The foreman estimated the work would cost £7OO. In view of the Advances to Settlers Office circularising local bodies to curtail borrowing, except fvr works already put in hand the Board hail no alternative but to hold over the proposal for a time. Mr Claris wrote for information respecting the proposed Kaweora road loan. Subsidy.—The Treasury notified that £H)S 7s Id had been paid to the Board's credit as subsidy on rates collected. Royalty.—The Kginont County Council wrote that they had decided to get a legal opinion from Mr Martin on tiie question of gravel royalty. * Foreman's Report.—Foreman .T. P.Kennedy reported:—Upper ArawlmtaRoad: Repairs to this road are being gone on with and are still in progress. I have arranged with Messrs Bartle foi repairs to the top portion to stand over for a time. Owing to having to cart the gravel up hill, I found if would take more horses and I thought it advisable to wait until we could procure a team for carting gravel. I'ppcr Kahui Road: All weak parts here have been repaired as far as the school. YVarea Road: This road has been rather troublesome during the past month, a good deal of repairs had to be done to keep the road open for trafiic. I think the trouble is over as regards repairs until the coming I winter. Opua, Stent and Burgess Roads have not been neglected during the month. Further repairs will be gone on with right away. Pipes: I have to infoTm your Board that Messrs Tait Bros, wish to purchase thirty "24 inch pipes for their- Carrington road contract. The foreman was authorised to sell 30 two feet pipes to Tate Bros, if it did not interfere with the Board's requirements. Timber: Probably the Count-.- Council will purchase the timber (stacked on Stent road. The foreman was given power to sell a quantity of bridge timber not required bv the Board. I would ask that some new pipe moulds be procured for pipe making at the Board's shed at Opunake, size* 12, IS and 24 inches. The live fence lias been planted at back and front of Board's section and wire netting has been put, on the fence to prevent cattle from destroying plants. Accounts.—Accounts amounting to I £l6O were passed for payment.
