RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
• MORE TRAINS WANTED, AND FASTER EXPRESSES. At a conference on Friday night bc- ' tween tho Council'of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the Employers' Association, at which the Mayor (Mr. J. E. Wilson) was also present by invitation, the question oi the train services in and out of New Plymouth was discussed at considerable length, with the result that a resolution was adopted as follows:—''That the following suggestions, he made to the Kailway Department- relating to the railway time-table: That a train leave ITawe.rn at, say, 8.10 a.m., and arrive at Xew Plymouth not later than 0.15 a.m.; a train to arrive at New Plymouth from Wanganui about 12,30 p.m.; retain train leaving Wanganui at 0.25 a.m., and arriving at New Plymouth Jit 5.30 p.m.; mail train arrive at 7.55 p.m., subject Ito speeding up; mail train leave Xew Plymouth at 7.40 a.m., presume slow train will precede mail train; train leave; New Plymouth at 3 p.m., going through to Wanganui; train leave New Ply- ! mouth about 5 p.m., going through to Wanganui; train leave New Plymouth about o p.m. and stop at Ilawcra; to provide for through daily connection between New Plymouth and Napier; that this meeting is of opinion that the time should he reduced by more than hiilf-an-'hour between New Plymouth and Wellington by tho mail train."
