Mrs Ambrose camo to her Imsiband's assistance. Both received a severe gash in the forehead, and tlheir nightctot'hes nere drenched with, blood. The burgjar escaped, leaving his soft ihnt and mask. It is evident that, after ransacking the house and finding nothing, title burglar, knowing the Ambroses brought money likvme with them, returned and again ransacked the (house, after Jock-, ing certain doors in order that he might lie undisturbed. It was after that that ■he went round to the front, and was there observed.
