THE MOANA ARRIVES.
AX UNEVENTFUL VOYAGE. By Telegraph.—For Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tie Moana arrived -this evening from 'Frisco, after an uneventful voyage. The vessel left the Californian port on August 20, having waited for 24 hours owing to fear of the German cruiser Leipzig, "which had gone out two days previously. On the second day after leaving 'Frisco the lights were "doused," and remained bo till arrival. No sign of any ship was seen on the voyage. The first news the Island people had of the war was received by the Maitai, bound from Wellington to Frisco. The Moana brings 430 bags of mails. The northern portion missed the Main Trunk oxprcss. She has a large number of passengers for New Zealand and Australia, nearly all the former being booked for Wellington.
