British Cruiser Sunk
STRIKES A MIXB.
London, September (i. Official.—The cruiser Pathfinder struck .\ mine on Saturday, if) miles off the East Coast, and foundered rapidly. The loss of life will probably be heavily. (The Pathfinder was a light cruiser of 20W tons, capable of developing a speed of 23Vi knots.)
GERMAN MINEFIELDS
THE PRACTICE COXTIXTES. Received fl, 5.5 p.m. London, September 5 (morning). The Germans continue to sow minefields, usually 30 miles out opposite the East Coast commercial harbors. The Admiralty has taken Ciystal Palace for naval purposes.
