An Australian who has arrived in London states that when he reached Berlin his passports were approved. He was taken by train to Benthehn, and thrown into a room 30ft square with 50 #ther».—Russians, French, and English. He was kept there for 18 days. The surroundings were frightfully insanitary. He got an English woman going to England to inform the Foreign Office of their predicament, and all prisoners over 45 years of ago were released, but the others were detained. The Press Bureau states that its account of the fortune of the Expeditionary Force fully describes the present position. Though the messages of correspondents are not forbidden, they should be received with extreme caution, as the information is second-hand and third-hand from persons who are in no condition to tell a coherent story, and from informant- who lack a proper perspective.
