A letter from Mr Mark Fov states that he left Sydney by the German steamer Coblenz on July 25 for Hongkong and reached German New Guinea, where they heard that war had been declared. The Coblenz landed her passengers and left hurriedly for a neutral port. The passengers who were stranded chartered a cutter in order to reach a port to get a steamer to China. The cutter was wrecked and the passengers were picked up and taken to Yap, Caroline Islands, where they now are.
