Last Saturday, in the Good Templar Hal), ilr» l'hil* Nathan gave, a recital of iennyson's "Enoch Arden,' m aid ot thv> ltitriotie Fund, which was received with a packed and enthusiastic audience. Mrs. Nathan's marvellous elocutionary powers were used with remarkable »access, especially Use deeply pathetic 'portions at tile close, many of the audience being deeply movou. Miss Beryl llirsc played the difficult accompaniment by 'Kichardi Strauss, in an excellent manner, which added greatly to the enjoyment of the recital. Captain Stevens uii.g in his usual good style, his every item 'being enthusiastically eniwred.

'Die formal opening of the vogeltown Sunday School took place yesterday altera oo'n, the ceremony being performed by BisJiop Averill who in a I'cry happy speech praised the little band of earnest workers ccnpected with tl>e school, their tireless efforts and unbounded energy having brought forth such rcsulta. The hall was prettily dftcmtcd with bunting and during the afternoon (several hymns and the Nathiomil Anmem were beautifully sung by a band of 40 children. After the ceremony Mrs. (j.. Neal entertained the Bishop ;-r:d clergy at afternoon tea. She was assisted by Misses B. Evans and Hirst.
