TARANAKr CHAMPION SHIELD. PATEA v. INOLEWOOD. The Inglewood Rifle Club yesterday journeyed to Patea, to shoot' for the Taramiki Rille Clubs' champion Shield, and were defeated by 44 poinds. The Pa lea Club put up a great shoot for the d*y, which was anything but ideal .shooting weather. Rifleman 31. Carey put .imks possibles at oOOyd, and «<!!) yds, and a total of 102. The marking was of the best, not one mistake being made. Experts predict that the Patea Club will hold the shield for some time to come, th" club being very strong at present.
