A force from Windhoek, of strength unknown, crossed tlie Orange River and entered Mamaqualand. f)n tho way the (ioniums had a conflict with Boer farmers, who liave settled in German territory. A few Germans were killed. The invaders are now in a sandy and waterless region, and are unable to move far from the river. Tlie raid is not considered dangii-oiis, hut the Union Government is taking I'oiviklc measures to prevent its repetition.
