THRILLING DEMONSTRATION IN '• PARLIAMENT. THE WAR VOTE PASSED. GREAT GIFTS BY CANADIAN STATES. Ottawa, August 23. A thrilling demonstration oi patriotic fervor by all parties marked the passing oi the wau vote in the House of Commons. It is announced that Ontario has given £IOO,OOO to Britain. Nova Scotia is providing 100,000 tons of coal for the Admiralty. Mr. J. Eaton, Toronto, is donating £20,000 to equip a battery of Viokers quiek-lircrs mounted on armored trucks for the Canadian contingent. The Duke of Connaught, in proroguing the House, hoped, in the mercy of Divine Providence, a favorable and honorable issue to the tvar.
