The German-Australian steamer Berlin arrived from Hamburg to-day. Tho •: •board were unaware of the declaration ®f war. The ship is detained. • WAR LEGISLATION PASSED. Sydney. August 20. Both Houses paused emergency Bills arising out of the state of ®v»r. The other States were passing similar legislation. • The Employers' Federation and the labor Council have arranged to confer on questions affecting employer and employee arising out of the war. 3f. Guillaux is returning to France fo act as an air scout in the war.
