Germany will Fight Japan. THE ULTIMATUM REJECTED. ■Press Association.—Extraordinary. Received 20, C p.m. London, August 20 (3 p.m.) Germany has rej&tcd Japan's .ultimatum. •UNEXPECTED BY BERLIN POPULACE. Received 2&, 8.40 p.m. London, August 19 (evening). Eighty Japanese students were expelled from Germany and have arrived in England. They report having received much illtreatment. They state that previous to Japan's ultimatum the idea was prevalent in Germany that Japan would attack Russia. KIAO-CHAO. BRITAIN'S POSITION. London, August 19. The Times' correspondent says that ■Britain's prestige demands that she should be the dominant factor in determining the future of Kaio-chao. She should be represented in the investing army and navy. Count Okutna states that Japan's warlike operations wil not extend beyond the limits necessary for the defence of her own legitimate interests. She had not taken action to give a third party uneasiness. It is Japan's intention to eliminate German influence in China. The Foreign Minister has promised German residents in Japan a continuance >of protection for their lives and property. ~ .*"&
