Last season £87,120 was distributed in prizes', and the added money foT the current year is £BO,OOO. The club resolved to donate £IO,OOO for patriotic purposes in any part of the Empire.
j WANGANUI MEETING TO BE HELD.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wangamii, last Night. The committee of the Wangaiwi Jockey Club to-nigiht reconsidered its decision to abandon the spring meeting, end decided to hold the meeting and to - devote the whole of the profits to the' War Fund. Nominations were fixed to cose on August 31. Tlia club's previous decision was not influenced by financial consideration:-, hut simply bv ihe fact •hat jollifications seemed out of place m time of war.
