NORTH TARANAKI HUNT.
This popular club's meet at .Mr. .1. Connett's iast Thursday will be remembered for many a day, To come. Previous to the iu'int, visitors and country members were entertained at,the White Hart Hotel by the town members, and, after a .hearty meal supplied liv Mrs. Tabor in her'usual style, hounds and horses were brought round, and the cavalcade, proceeded to Mr. Connett's capital hunting property at Tieil Mode, where the. hounds wen; at once thrown off. They soon started a hare, which gave the followers a splendid run across country as far as Mr. Harold Street's where a kill was registered. <m returning to Mr. Connett's property, which, by the way, had been splendidly sparred by Mr. Connett. several more short runs were enjoyed before rain pin, a stop to the sport. Among those following the hounds were several members of the Kgmont-Wanganni Hunt, who were returning a visit paid by the North Taranaki Hunt to Hawera some weeks ago. Amongst those present were: Miss .Cameron ''(Wanganui), fir. Simmons (I'htea), -Mr. Patterson (Waverley) and Mr. L\. Tonks (ilurlevville). The next meet, on Thursday, will take place at Mr. llaicoiiibc's farm, Urenui, where visitors and members may be sure of a cordial reception from Mrs. llaleombe and the master, both of whom are very keen on doing tl.vir utmost lor such a fine sport.
