London, August 1-1. •Heuter's St. Petersburg .correspondent says that seventy-threo German steamers of 117,000 tons have been seized in Russian ports, and twelve Austrian ves;,sels of 44,000 tons. WARSHIP PUT TO FLIGHT. BY BRITISH CRUISER. Halifax (.Nova Scotia), Aug. 14. The cruiser Bristol fought a longrange duel with the Karlsruhe on Thursday night. The Suffolk chased the Karlsruhe while the, latter was coaling, but the Karlsruhe escaped, owing to her superior speed. The Bristol then waylaid her inflicting small damage, owing to the. heavy sens. The Karlsruhe th"n fled.
