Mr. Masses said the Mortgages Extension Bill had received the Governor's assent and was now kw. The amendments made in the Harbors Bill by the Legislatve Council were agreed to. lion. A. L. TTerdman moved the second reading of the Trustees Amendment Bill, validating the payment by trustees of trust funds into building societies, savings banks, municipal corporations, investments, and public companies while, a state of war exists in New Zealand, and for six months thereafter. Sir Jostph Ward said b? believed the Bdl was necessary in the present crisis, and as a matter of urgency was passed through all its stages without amendment.
