ENGAGEMENTS ON THE FRONTIER. SUCCESSES FOR THE CZAR'S ARMIES. St. Petersburg, August la. A German general commands the Austrian troops on the Russian frontier. The Gormans are fortifying themselves near Kalisz and Saeradz and destroying the fords of tine Warta river. It is semi-offieially announced that the Russians drove the Austrians out of Sokal and pursued them to the river Bug, Wowing up bridges and a viaduct. RUSSIAN GENEROSITY. St. Petersburg, August 13. The merchants of Moscow raised £250,000 in a quarter of an hour for the wounded and their families. The Grand Duke Constantinovitcli has offered his famous marble palace as a hospital.
