KAIMATA DAIRY CO.

ANNUAL MEETING. ' A'- the annual meeting of the members of the above company, there was a record attendance presided over by lie chairman of directors, Mr ('. Dobson. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman congratulated the shareholders on having nad one of the most successful seasons. Half the output had been told and the remainder consigned. In consequence of the strike it would have been better had the whole output -been sold. As" a consequence, the directors had to overdraw at the bank and this step increased the interest account. They were also handicapped in being unable, to use their whey butter-fat. in spite of all the drawbacks, they had paid out l:l',:-e. lor the season, which was ahead ot many other cheese concerns. The result should be very gratifying to tile shareholders. Great credit was due to the stall', who turned, out a pound of cheese from O'/dbs. of milk. The report and balance-sheet vv.-re adopted. For the seven vacancies on the dirt* to rate, there were tell nominations, tilt: ballot (resulting in the election of Messrs C. Dobson, B rrell, Bncock, Kleiner. .1. Dobson, Death and Powell. 'Mr M. Ilopson was re-elected auditor. A motion by Mr Capper to alter the articles of association so far as the rettirement and election of directors was concerned was lost. The perennial grievance of last comers being unable to obtain any whey was again ventilated. The chairman, was sympathetic, but pointed out that the only, remedy—weighing each supplier's quantity—-would prove expensive. ' A proposal was made to vote the chairman an honorarium of £ll, but he declined to accept it, so that matter dropped. In reply to Mr Beikhardt, the chairman said no doubt the manager would arrange to keep a supply pf cheese on hand available for the shareholders. On the motion of Mr Capper, it was decided to donate two crates of cheese to flu- war fund. A heart,- vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing directors and stall', and a similar compliment to the chairman brought the proceedings to a close. Subsequently, the 'shareholders and visitors spent an hour or two in an enjoyable social gathering -at which several appropriate toasts were honored, being interspersed with songs, recitations, etc. , At the first meeting of directors, Mr ('. DnNsnn was unanimously re-elected chairman.
