RESTRICTIONS ON SHIPPING. Capetown, August 12. The Union Government has undertaken the defence of South Africa. The restrictions on shipping in Table Bay have been applied at Durban. Germans resident in or near the vicinity of ports have been required to surrender anus and ammunition. -The De Beers mine has been closed down.
