ORDER OF FORESTERS.
TA.RANAKI DISTRICT. The half-yearly meeting of the above district was held at Inglewood in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday. Tile fallowing district officers were present:—District Chief Ranper, Bro. A. J. Way; District Sub-Chief Ranger, Bro,. A. Coldwell; District Woodward, Bro. T. M. Avery; Disvrict Treasurer. Bro. 11. R. Cattley: District Secretary, Bro. C. Tunbridge. The following rcprcs' ii,ed the undermentioned Courts;—l'.t,.l!, Bro. J. D. .Murray (Court Taranaki), P.D.C.R. Bro. C. 11. Weston and P.D.C.R. Bro. A. J. Tunbridge (Court, Waireka), P.C.R. Bro. W. E. Williams (Court Patea), P.O.R. Bro. C. L. Kivell (Court .Stratford), and P.C.R. Bro. IT. J. Stimpson (Inglewood Forest). It was resolved that this district cooperate with the Auckland district for the formation of a Subsidiary Court for New Zealand, and'that the district officers be empowered to sign the application for a dispensation to be granted from the High Court in England. A delegate waa appointed to represent this district av a meeting of Foresters to be Held in Dunedin in October next to consider the formation of a Subsidiary High Court for New Zealand. A vote of thanks was passed to Bro. A. H. Shelton, P.G.P., of the Ancient Order of Druids, for his able letter re consolidation of funds in friendly societies. . " . Bro. J. D. Murray was appointed District Beadle and was duly installed into bis respective place by thy District Chief Ranger. It was decided to hold the next district delegate meeting at Waitara, The matter of establishing a convalescent home for Foresters at Auckland was held over. The -inn of £5 5s was voted to the patriotic fund, to be paid to the Mayor of Inglewood in honor of the Foresters holding their meeting at Tnglewo'.d, and the hope, was expressed that other friendly societies would follow this lead and take up the matter of contributing to bis fund. Nomination of officers resulted in the choice of Bre. A. Coldwell for District Chief Ranger, Bro. T. M. Avery for District Sub-Chief Ranger, Bro. J. D. Murray for District Woodward, and Bro. C. H. Tate for District Beadle. P.D.C.R. Bro. C. H. Weston and P.D.C.R. Bro. A. Tunbridge and district officers were appointed a sub-com-mittee to form a scheme of contributing to the district funeral fund. It was resolved that in view of the war of Great Britain and other countries that this meeting of delegates of ' the Ancient Order of Foresters give the district officers power to formulate any scheme, if considered necessary, to pro- ' tect the society from loss of contributions through distress euustd by the war and help any member leaving for the front in every way possible and in any other way in connection with the war. The district officers reported that five I members died during the last six I months, and that the -tim of £losliad been paid for funeral money .
