News has been received from London of the death o' Miss Mullio land, first Militant of Timaru Girls' High School, for 13 years, absent on leave. —Timaril telegram. A Press Association telegram ffom Timaru reports the dea:h of Air James Guild, a well-known farmer, of Temuka, at tJlie age of 78 years, lie came to New Zealand in 1859, and settled in Temuka in 1880. The Wellington correspondent of the Dunedin Star states that Miss Mary Mackenzie, youngest daughter of the High Commissioner, who was separated from her brother and sister on the way to England from Leipzig, is safe in Belgium. Tsifcerday, at St. John's Churclh, Waitara, Caro, third daughter of Mr. Robert Wells, of Brixton, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Colston Mills, of Gisborne. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore'a dress of hand-embroidered white voile,and wore fche orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and the bridegroom's gift (a gold wristlet watch). She waa attended by her niece, Miss Myra Paul, who wore a cream dress and hat to match, and the bridegroom's gift (a gold necklace and pendant of pearls and aquamarfines). They both carried beautiful bouquets, made by Mr A." Limmer, of Waitara. The Rev. Mr. Harrison performed the ceremony, and Mr. George Pearce was best man, After the ceremony the guests sat down to a sumptuous repast, provided by Mrs. Sutherland, of "Bellcvue." Mr. and Mrs. Mills left by motor-ear on tlie first stage of their journey. The honeymoon is to be spent in .Auckland. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue costume and black lace 'hat, with a lime-colored plume.
