EMPIRE PICTURES. The usual mid-week change of programme takes plate this evening, when a new Cines Feature Drama will be introduced, entitled, "His Solemn Oath," on unusual play of tragic power. Supporting items include some fine releases, foremost being Vitagraph's latest drama, "Little Kaintuck," a really grand and appealing heart story of which a little boy of ten is the hero. A glance at the advertisement will supply information as to the quality of the remaining'films. Seats may lie reserved -by ringing up 'THE ROSARY." It is seldom that .sew Zealand audiences have an opportunity of seeing the original cast of a successful production Which has made a hit in Europe and I America, play the same piece in this country. The company, however, which I will interpret "The Rosary" in Xew Ply- < mouth is the same one that last year in New York created the original roles in this play, tilie principal members being Mr Harrington Reynolds as Father Kelly, Messrs Albert McGovern, Walter 15. Fenner, George Leary, Paul Byron, and the Misses Jessio Arnold (the leading lady) Grace Reading and Ethel Elder. As leading man, 'Mr Harrington Reynolds made one of the biggest successes on record in the "Rosary." The story of this successful play, to be seen In the Theatre lioval, concerns a name whidh is brought near to destruction by the mechanism of a villain who seeks revenge on a man who has won the woman lie himself loves. He wantonly brings the wife, into (lisrcpute after ruining her sister, anil then plots to wreck the fortunes of his successful rival, who believes him to be a steadfast friend. It is the part of Father Brian Kelly to unravel the tangled and restore tranquillity to the once happy home. "The Rosary" will he staged to-mor-row (Thursday) and Friday nights only, and the box plans are at Collier's. Early door day sales may he obtained to-mor-row (Thursday) at. Collier's also.
