HOW THE DISASTER OCCURRED." • London, August 10. Four British tars from the Amphion and four Germans, of the Koenigin Luise were buried in a common grave at Snotley. The Amphion survivors state that when the Koenigin Luise was sighted a shot was fired across her bows. Shi refused to stop and the chase begun. The destroyers caught and surrounded the steamer, but the captain refused to surrender, and the vessel was taken by force. The disaster to the Amphion occurred when she was returning towards port.
