COMPENSATION TO A WIDOW. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Arbitration Court awarded £225 compensation in a claim by the Public Trustee on behalf of the widow of William Brown, who was drowned with his employer, Samuel Peddie, at Wbaneapuna, in August, 1013, FELL OVERBOARD. ' e* i n Wellington, List Night. Stanley C. Adams, aged 28, a steerage steward on the Athenic, ihad a marvellous escape on the voyage from Teneriffe to Capetown. He fell overboard while a heavy sea was running. A boat was lowered, and picked him up alter sixteen minutes' immorsian. Adams states that he kept all his clothes on, but was nearing collapse when the rescue boat annved.
