THREATENED BY THE "MAILED FIST." BUT PRESERVES HER NEUTRALITY. London, August fl. ■Renter's Rome correspondent states that Germany and Austria are beginning to threaten Italy and to declare that her neutrality is contrary to her obligations under the Triple Alliance. If Italy persists tliev will consider themselves free to declare war, and Austria will invade Venetia and Lombardy.
Notwithstanding pressure and promises of aggrandisement, Italy persists in refusing to . break 'her neutrality. Popular demonstrations in favor of England and France continue. Paris, August !). The Rome correspondent of the ICclio de Paris says that representatives of the Russian and Gorman Governments have arrived on secret missions to the Italian Government. Other reports state that the Duke of Avarna iias returned to Vienna, unable to shake Italy's determination to remain neutral.
