TO PREVENT DISTRESS. A GIFT PROM CANADA. Ottawa, August 8. The Government has offered 1,000,000 bags of flour to Britain with the object of preventing distress and obviating the Increase in prices. The Home Government, in acknowledging the gift, de/ scribes it as the most welcome that could be offered, and was modt patriotic and generous.
