ENGLISH LADIES EXTENDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Saturday. The English ladies' hockey team played the third match of the tour today, when they defeated Hnwke'e Bay by three goals to nil. Aboiit SOOO-peop't were present. In the first spell play was very even, and the home tea-m jwdii their own. Halfway through Misi found the net, and half-time sounded without further, score. 'The visitors showed line combination. In the second half Miss U. Tuko sewed, and a third goal was Ihit in by the Bawke's Bay goalkeeper. The home team made desperate efforts to score in the final' sitages, and the visitors were hard pressed, but then defence was too sound.
AUCKLAND DEFEAT CANTERBURY. Auckland, Laet Niglit. In the New Zealand challenge shield match between Canterbury and Auckland, the holders, won by two goals to one. There was a a attendance oi about 1509.
