■SERVIAN SUCCESS REPORTED; AUSTRIANS DRIVEN BACK. Belgrade, August 7. An Austrian attempt to cross the Save at Avala and Obrienovatz on Monday afternoon failed. The fight lasted until midnight, when a party of volunteers crossed the Save and hoisted the Servian flag on the post of Dalars. It is officially believed that now it. is impossible for Austria to force a passage into Servian territory. AUSTRIAN ATTACKING COLUMN REPULSED. Received 9, 5.5 p.m. Nish, August 7. The Austrians failed -in seven, attempts to cross the Danube, and' once to cross the Save.
STILT, BOMBARDING BELGRADE. 1 _ _ Belgrade, August 7. • There is increased activity at Belgrade. The guns of the Servian upper and lower fortresses attempted to ham'per Austrian vessels on the Drina;, but 'the Austrian artillery finally silenced the fortresses. The city tos not damaged.
