At the same trua, he would be sorry to see the scheme administered in any arbitrary

manner, or so as to injure -the honest persons who found themselves in debt. Mr. EI. Ooodacre stated that in a previous investigation on behalf of a number of tradespeople, he had found the amount u l credit given more or less indiscriminately by New Plymouth traders to be simply astounding ELECTION Oi> OFI'ICERS. auditor, Mr. E. P. Webster; committee Messrs J. W. Harden, F. S. Johns, A E. Sykas, P. White, C. E. Baker. J. C. Morey, i\ 0. J., Bellringcr, A. K. Smart, [ r. Aver/, R. J. Deare, F. W. Okey, H. Goodacr-, A. Veale, and P. Lealand, with power to add. GENERAL. It was decided that five be a quorum of the general committee. On the motion of Mr. Austin, it was decided to bring before the conference of employers' associations, to be held m Wellington this year, the necessity for- provision of better means for employers tu enquire into the bona fides of trade unions.
