EMPIRE PICTQREsN At the Empire Palace last night, another excellent programme of pictures was screened. The star offering in the dramatic line was an Edison production entitled, "The Witness to the Will." All the world loves a will mystery, and this is one of the best of the'kind. It is the story of a young girl whose nncle has died and left her to the tender mercies of his son who is under the only will which can be found legatee. It embodies a pretty love story and touches on the tribulations of a young woman forced to IV •■ -;', e wor ld alone in a great, city. .!'«.■„ .-!,,. struggles and fails and how she is ulfi-.,i.telv rescued is a story hardly less fascinating than that ot the hunt for the will itself. Like all good dramas, it comes "right in the end, the villain is punished and true love made happy. The details are well attended to, and the acting is in the hands ot a. strong cast. "The Measure of a Man is a Lubin drama of Western life and Mexican raids. It tells of a youn" engineer left to defend the camp against a gang of Mexican roughs. The unusual manner in which he wins through is worth seeing, and cannot otherwise be appreciated "In Upper Egypt," is one ot the most fascinating denies of a land ol ancient mystery, and the Warwick Chronicle is as interesting as ever. These pictures, with a strong supporting programme, will be screened again to night and to-morrow night. MILITARY BALL.
