COMPENSATION CASES.
ALPINE TRAGEDY RBCALLEI). Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The .Arbitration Court took compensation cases this afternoon. In the ease of the two Alpine guides employed by the Tourist Department at Mount Coolc, T/Ho *re killed last year, tUe Public Trustee, as administrator of their estates, sought compensation from the Crown. The Court awarded £2OO in the •ase of David Thomson, and 1180 in tihe tate of JoVii Richmond. These amounts are live I lanes the benefit# the dependents Wire receiving prior to the death of their respective sons. In tihe remaining case the Court awarded £4-17 to the I'iuWic Trustee, as administrator of the estate of Edwin Egbert White, late elerk in tile Public Works Department, who was killed by a train in April, while -'(.'turning on a railway jigger to Otaki from bis employment.
