ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
[ DEATH FROM BURNS. j By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin Last Night. An inquest as held; to-day at Port Chalmers touching thte death of Hugh Mac Arthur on Sunday from burns. Evidence showed that on the previous evening Mrs. Wolsey, housekeeper i&t Chick's Hotel, heard groans coming from the room, occupied by deceased', but on attempting to enter the 6moke was too dense. The room was not .usually occupied, but McArfchur was allowed to sleep there on Sunday night. Deceased was got out, after some trouble, by Peter Robertson, the 'barman. Medica'l attention was procured, and deceased yas sent to the Dunedin Hospital, but was so severely hurt that he died. A formal verdict 'was returned.
