Th.-r----kleson £35, Crossman £l4 lis 6d, J. Sutler £OO Is, E. How £6B 5s (all of Tariki), H. A. Wunsch (Midhirst) £B6, Masters and Son (Stratford) £'2s ss, N. King (Stratford) £2OO 17s 2d. Wage.; claims totalled £164 5s 9d. In his written statement bankrupt said that he lost about £l5O over a farm which lie had for three years He then started as a contractor, Mr. W. Ilannahl assisting, him financially. Owing to shortage of railway trucks lie lost money o\ er a stone-crushing contract for the Whangamomona County Gjuncil and to that he attributed his present position. There was quite a rush for copies of tile Daily News yesterday morning on arrival of the mail train at Stratford, so great is tlie excitement over the war.
