VISIT TO TARANAKJ. According to present arrangements His 'Lordship Bishop Averill will arrive in New Plymouth on Wednesday, August 26, having previously visited Stratford, Inglewood, Waitara and Okato. On the evening of the 26th it is /hoped to give parishioners an opportunity of ; meeting the Bishop at a social in St. Mary's Hall'. On Thursday, 27th, a "quiet day" will ' he held for the clergy and lay-readers of the district. Other men who help in various ways in the work of the Church will be invited to attend. The "Quiet Day" will commence on Thursday at 12 o'clock, when the Bishop will , give the first of 'his addresses and will conclude with an early Celebration on Friday morning. On the evening of Friday, 28th, a missionary meeting will he held in St. Mary's Hall, at which the Bishop will speak, and at which it is hoped that the Melanesian, Maori and Home Missions, will be specially represented. the 29th, will be a rest day for the but no doubt lie will be pleased to see privately anyone who wishes for an interview.
