LENIENCY TO STRIKERS.
WILL BE DISCONTINUED. By CaMe.—Press Association.—Copyry it . Sydney, August 1. Giving a decision in the matter of tho appeal by the Amalgamated Engineers' Society against the decision of the gasworkers' and engineers' special demarcation board, Mr. Justice Heydon said: "I have come to the conclusion that -the existing daily contempt for and outraging of the law exposes the court to most serious criticism. In future strikers must not bo surprised if a fine to the ■ full amount of £SO per man is imposed, as the policy of leniency has entirely • failed. It is the disagreeable but clear duty of the court to abandon that ncliey."
