A "CROOK" DEAL.
G'RSBORNE JEWEL ROBBERY, By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. Gisborne, July 31. Charles Henry Newton, alias Murray, was committed for trial in connection with the burglary at Grieve's jewellery establishment on June 12. Evidence was given that accused went to a firm of auctioneers and asked them if they were prepared to do business, saying he could give £SOO worth of stuff for £SO adding, "Of course it is a crook deal." '
