There was a good muster oC shareholders, about forty attending. The report and balance-sheet as published was read and adopted. The committee of directors, Messrs. flrccn, Gibson and Willcox, appointed to investigate and report on the advisability of starting a co-operative store, addressed the meeting, and pointed out their reasons for not recommending the establishment of a store in connection with the factory. Gibson and Wil'cox, being received, the new aspirant for directorial honors being Mr. D. R. Wright, of Ngariki road. I Keen interest was taken in the voting, j which resulted in the retiring directors being returned by substantial majorities. ! In reply to a question as to why the total payment per lb. of butterfat was omitted from the report, the chairman stated that it was a printer's error, the total payment being a trifle over thirteen pence halfpenny for the season's 'butter-fat, as shareholders could verify by adding the amount of further payment of l'/id per lb. to the amount advanced as shown by the statistics. The surplus as shown 011 the balance-sheet was dealt with. The secretary, Mr. Hugh Baily, was voted a bonus of £,lO 10a, and the directors each £8 3s. ELTIIAM' NOTES. The Eithaan Dairy Go's 'balance-sheet is ready for presentation to the directors, who will determine the ' exact bonus to be paid out for the season. I understand that the surplus aim wed or. tlie balance-se.eet will admit of a total payment for the year for over 13d per lb. of butter-fat for cheese-mak-ing, against 12.68 d paid the previous year. The dry season has made th ■ season iu other respects soimewluat disappointing; still, if the bonus is ■jmrnv tlikin last year, the shareholders 'will smile.
