THE BOORABIL DEAL.
EVIDENCE AT THE ENQUIRY. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright Received 27, 8.30 p.m. Sydney, July 27. At the Boorabill enquiry, Jones said that from the newspaper reports people would get the impression that he had no knowledge of the land question, and his services in connection with the case were only secured becau/e they had a political "pull." Thisywas incorrect. He regarded his knowledge of land as equal to that of any man in New South Wales. Asked by the Commissioner if anyone wanting to 'buy or sell land sought his opinion, Jones replied in the negative; lie had had no practical experience. The Commissioner replied that many people claimed to know all about land who knew nothing. The Under-Secretary for the Lands Department gave evidence that no undue pressure was brought to bear on him ovc-r the sale of the Boorabil property.
