SOME HUGE UNDERTAKINGS. By Ca'We.—Press Association.— ...,.pyright London. July 24. Messrs Andrew Weir and Co., shipowners, have completed negotiations for the purchase of an oilfield in California. A company, with a capital of OIMOO.OOO, is being formed, and it is understood that the directors will include Lord Pirrie and Sir Owen Pbilipps. The company will provide oil for the White Star. Eoval Mail, Union Castle and Cunard lines] and will also build a large fleet of tank steamers. Herr Bnllin, on behalf of the Ham-burg-American line, i s negotiating to acquire oil properties in Mexico.
