MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held yesterday, when there were pressent: Messrs G. H. Bullard (Commissioner of Crown Lands), in the chair, Ryan and Coxhead. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. W. Higgins, A. E. Stevens and J. H. Higgins, 0.R.P., section 2, block 16, Mahoe.—Approved. C. E. Thurston and L. S. Carter, 0.R.P., section 1, block 10, Mahoe—Approved. Sections 101 and 102, Spotswood, were sold on 'deferred payment to Emma Tweedale.—Approved. 'Applications were received from adjoining settlers for section 84, block 10, Pouatu, and it -was agreed to grant Mr. Lay ground for a homestead site and the rest of the section to Mr. Brown. D. and M. E. Shepherd, lessees of section 6, block 11, Aria, 200 acres, applied for a portion of section 4 adjoining, in order to get a good fencing line. —Left to the Commissioner. A. It will be offered for fourteen years at , £2 18s per annum. Proposals for the expenditure of the following thirds were approved, subject to the ranger's report:—Eltham County Council, £857 8s sd; Waitomo County Council, £877 8s sd. Dr. E. H. Howard wrote re non-pay-ment of his fees by several settlers in the Tangitu improved farm settlement. — It was resolved that the Board regretted the circumstances, but had no power to act. Mr. Scott waited on the Board and asked if sub-section 3 of section 22, block 15, Kaupokonui, at present let to Mrs. L. Joll, could be vested in the Council, as the Council understood it had been laid aside as a gravel reserve. —The Board considered that the Council should endeavor to obtain a transfer from Mrs. Joll. On the application of Mr, James, son of the lessee of section 13, block 8, it was resolved to recommend that £ 120 be diverted from the Main road, to be expended on the Kaitieke road, if it could be done. A resolution of appreciation of Mr. Twiss' services as ranger was unanimously passed. A plan of sections in the Auhopae block was laid before the Board, and the prices were approved.
